I am the founder and director of Eye Care Surgical Ltd.
I am an experienced Consultant ophthalmic surgeon with a special interest in cataract surgery and retinal disease.
I joined Somerset Foundation Trust in April 2023 after moving from London where she was a highly respected Consultant Eye Surgeon for 14 years.
I relocated to Somerset in search of a better quality of life and new opportunities.
I am a highly competent cataract surgeon and have performed over 4000 cataract operations in the NHS, private sector and independent sector.
I have comprehensive experience in managing retinal diseases such as macular degeneration and diabetes and hold prestigious UK Retina Fellowships from the Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre and Kings College Hospital London.
I have wide experience with using premium intraocular lens implants as well as managing cataracts in eyes with existing retinal diseases thereby optimising the visual outcome after surgery in all her patients.
I am a trained expert witness and accepts Medicolegal cases.
I have a passion for teaching and training and am interested in research with over 25 publications in peer-reviewed scientific journals.
I am a champion for greener and more sustainable education and Chair of Royal College Courses and Events Sub- Committee.

We provide treatment and surgery for patients with cataracts, conditions affecting the retina such as macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy and minor eye conditions such as dry eyes, blurred vision, acute red eye, eyelid lumps and bumps and ocular pain.

We provide a range of medico legal services in ophthalmology covering medical negligence and personal injury claims. Miss Patra is a trained expert witness and can provide consultations in Somerset, medicolegal reports and court appearances in her field of expertise.

Self-pay covers the consultant’s professional fee; the hospital may bill separately for facility use.
Insured patients: authorisation before booking, and you’re responsible for policy excess.
Pay invoices within 28 days via BACS (bank transfer).
